DurianPy, Davao’s Python Software Foundation-recognized Python user group, brings PyCon back to Davao to help drive the city’s growing tech community and Southeast Asia’s next tech hub.

Building on the momentum of PyCon Davao 2025, this year’s conference goes bigger with distinguished keynotes, multiple parallel tracks, and a full sprint day. Over two days, it brings together engineers, data scientists, educators, founders, and students to learn, build, and collaborate.

What went down?

PyCon Davao 2025, themed Panaghiusa ("unity" or "coming together"), was the first full-scale Python conference in the Davao Region. Over two days the community:

  • Ran an in-person conference with 16 national and international speakers across keynotes, web development, AI and data science, Python internals, open source, and community-building tracks.
  • Capped the weekend with a dedicated Sprint Day contributing to open-source projects such as Air and pandas.
  • Celebrated community-driven innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across Davao and beyond.

That milestone set the stage for an even more ambitious PyCon Davao 2026.
